Two parts became one. Uniting the top floor with the flat beneath was a massive challenge in this building in one of Barcelona’s most up-trendy areas. The lower floor became a private area with different rooms and a more intimate space for the family to share, while the upper floor saw a considerable change in functionality.
The stairs that connect both are an architectural masterpiece that combines stone for the stairs and leather for the wall that holds it. One of the desires was to make the kitchen a place to bring some of the most prominent chefs in the city to cook while being observed by the many guests in the event, a live show-cooking. The open kitchen with views to the Mediterranean features two different areas that become one by raising a table in the middle.
